westcoast Brighteye Brison - Believers & Decievers
Finally BB has done something about the vocals. Their music have always been very good, but the vocals horrible! Not so this time. The vocals are great, but the best thing about this album is after all the music. This is first class modern progressive rock in the same style as Spock's Beard. Not that they sound like the Beard, but just like them, Brighteye Brison have the ability to be progressive and complex without ever losing the melody. Fans of Flower Kings, Moon Safari and Simon Says will also love this little gem! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (Martin & Per)

hardrock Kip Winger - From The Moon To The Sun
Ever since I heard the album "Pull" by Winger in the beginning of the nineties I've been a huge fan of Kip and when he released his first solo album "Thisconversationseemslikeadream" in 1997, I have considered him a true musical genius, a sort of Peter Gabriel of melodic rock. His second studio solo album, 2000's "Songs from the Ocean Floor" didn't change how I feel about the man, even if it's not as good as his first. Now I'm more than thrilled to have his third solo CD in my hands and I can tell you right away that he hasn't lost it, it's a new "Masterpiece". The style is familiar with an extra added oriental twist. Kip is a true composer in every aspect of what that title represents. "I am an artist that will continue to push the envelope into the direction that my ear and abilities are taking me, with no compromise", says Kip, adding "I worked hard to make this record my best yet. For sure it is musically very diverse… hence the title, From The Moon To The Sun". Musical contributions on the album include Rod Morgenstein and Ken Mary on drums, Andy Timmons and Rob Eberhard Young on guitar, Alan Pasqua on piano, Cenk Eroglu on songwriting, keyboards and guitars. A truly magnificent album and I'm in love! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED (Olov)

progressiv rock Zoldar & Clark - Zoldar & Clark
Absolutely adorable progressive rock from Jeff Cannata and friends. Never before released material that wascintended to be Jasper Wrath's second album. And if you have heard JaSper Wrath, you know that this is a must have for lovers of high quality 70's progressive rock. The influences are like a list of the greatest bands: Gentle Giant, Yes, Genesis, King Crimson, Jethro Tull. A very diverse album that might feel a little too much, but it's just wonderful. Let's just hope that Jeff Cannata releases the rest of the Jasper Wrath material again. There was an awesome 2 CD collection on the market a couple of years ago, that we completely missed. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

symphonic rock Abel Ganz - Shooting Albatross
A new album after 14 years! Here we have a fine melodic progressive album that nods towards Genesis, Jethro Tull, Camel, Pallas, Pendragon and Marillion to name some of the names that comes to mind when listening to this little gem. "Only" 4 tracks, where the shortest is 13 minutes and the longest 23. Special guests on the album are Pallas singer Alan Reed and Magenta's fine guitarist Stephen Fry. A beautiful "neoprogalbum" that has a lot of 70's in the soundpicture. MUCH RECOMMENDED
